WAA Affiliation Fees
Posted Monday, 9th February 2012
At the EGM held on January 22nd the introduction of Pro Rata fees was passed.
So the affiliation fees for the WAA for the year starting 1st Oct 2011 to 30th Sept 2012 are as follows:
|
1st Oct - 31st Dec |
£10.00 |
|
1st Jan - 31st Mar
|
£7.50 |
|
1st April - 30th June |
£5.00 |
|
1st July - 30th Sept |
£2.50 |
Please note that this applies to new members not lapsed members and that the existing custom where people joining after 1st May were covered for the following year has ceased to exist.
Some clarification from Alan Canning, Hon Secretary, WAA:
To save any
confusion, the pro rata fee applies to both Senior and Juniors. It does not
apply to a "Bloc" fee for a Junior/University/Disabled club which may be set up
in the year.
The
constitutional clause is shown below for clarity.
To
add Clause 61(a) “Pro rata quarterly
fees will be charged for new members joining during the year. The rates will be a percentage of the WAA
Senior and Junior Affiliation Fees as follows: 1st Oct- Dec31st 100%; 1st Jan-Mar 31st
75%; 1st April- June 30th 50%; 1st July-Sept 30th
25% (subject to rounding)
(Note
1. The existing custom whereby people
joining after 1st May will be
covered for the following year will cease to exist, in line with
GNAS.
Note
2. For clarity, new members are not
“lapsed members”. Lapsed members are
defined by WAA as those members who have not renewed their membership, within
the affiliation year after the year in which their membership ceased and thus
are liable for the full affiliation fee.) |
