About our Sunday Club

About

Our junior and improvers Sunday Club is for any archer who wants a bit of coaching, equipment advice or a little bit more practice in the daylight. You don’t have to be a beginner and you don’t have to be a member of the club, but you must be a member of Archery GB otherwise you will not be insured to shoot.

When: The Sunday Club runs between 2pm and 4pm every Sunday afternoon (unless cancelled). Check our Sunday Club Calendar to find out when and where the session is running.

Where: During the summer (April to mid September), we shoot at the Chepstow Athletic Club. During the winter (mid September to end of March), we shoot at the Caerwent Community Centre. Click here for directions to our shooting venues.

How much does it cost? So that we can cover the cost of hiring the hall at Caerwent during the winter we charge the following all year round:

  • Adults: £2
  • Juniors: £1
  • Second member of a family: £1
  • Coaches: £0

Our Coaches: We currently have five coaches in the club. If they’re wearing their gold polo-shirts, it means they’re there to coach. If they’re wearing their burgundy polo-shirts, it means they’re there for practice – but they can be approached if necessary.

Badge Schemes: We run two badge schemes, one during each season. The Indoor Badge Scheme is run to indicate achievement. The St Kingsmark 252 Improvement Award is designed to help you practise your shooting at different distances and recognise your achievements.
